Our client continues to undergo significant technology changes which present as operational risks. Supporting over 30,000 enrolments each year, five geographically diverse campuses, plus the delivery of a range of educational services to governments overseas, operational disruption will threaten the organisation’s existence.
As a result of an upgrade to core a core IT Student Records system, questions were being raised about the organisation’s ability to manage an IT Service Delivery disruption. It was unclear what proven capability existed to restore the IT Student Records system as well as other associated critical applications.
We were engaged to undertake a review of IT capabilities and produce an associated report on our findings. Over a five day period, we reviewed a range of Business Continuity and IT Recovery documents and obtained clarifications through a number of interviews with key stakeholders. This enabled us to confirm the business recovery requirements, compare these to the proven IT Disaster Recovery capabilities and produce a report of our findings.
Our engagement gave our client an independent view of their IT Disaster Recovery position and their ability to meet business requirements. Terra Firma provided an understanding of what was needed to remediate the shortfall in capability as well as clarity over the strategic and tactical steps that would reduce the client’s operational risk.
