Our approach

At Terra Firma, we have created a framework and client engagement model designed to make working with us easy and straightforward.

Quality sits at the core of what we do.  Our consulting practice deliver to high professional and industry standards, guiding both the quality of our work and way we approach it.

With our consultants having a breadth of skills across our competencies – strategy, architecture, project services, organisational change management and business improvement – we are well placed to design and deliver holistic solutions tailored for our clients.

How we work

Our philosophy is simple. We provide our staff with challenging and diverse opportunities using a solid and proven consulting model, that is supported by a learning and development framework. This learning may be achieved through moving into a new industry, upskilling through professional development courses or on the job training.

Our Consulting Practice managers ensure our consulting staff are well supported. As a first level of support, a team leader provides mentoring and coaching throughout the consultant’s career. In addition, on client engagements, support may be provided by the engagement lead. Our Consulting Practice Managers, Rod Lawson and Dave Field are also available for support and guidance.

Each consultant is provided with a framework to map their Professional Development Program. There are regular Professional Development sessions, mentoring programs, study groups, e-learning and access to external training. We also encourage membership and affiliation with professional bodies.

Our model

Our consulting model has seven levels from Graduate through to Principal Consultant. Where you start, depends on your experience and your skills.

Assessment and progression through the consulting levels takes place annually based on your skills, experience gained, feedback from client engagements and involvement in Terra Firma team initiatives and activities.

The pyramid of Skills, Experience and Persona provides the framework for the key attributes that describe a Terra Firma consultant.

Each of the levels within Terra Firma’s Consulting Model is made up of these three elements. All three elements carry equal importance, we assess these during the recruitment process, and throughout your ongoing development working with us.
